Background

Podium Logistics Express was founded by Navy veteran Roger Burdette, who began his career in logistics in 1995. He brings decades of experience across transportation, including LTL, truckload, flatbed, van, dedicated service, brokerage, 3PL, over-dimensional freight, and more. After building multiple freight and logistics businesses, he launched Podium Logistics Express in 2018.

Podium Logistics Express takes the lessons of past success and raises the standard. Roger says, “Treat everyone like family, work hard, be safe, and provide service that sets the pace. Our people and our culture are everything to us.” That belief shows up in our Four Es: Empower, Encourage, Equip, and Engage. When we take care of our people, our people take care of our customers, and we stay relentlessly customer focused.

As an asset-based freight company, Podium Logistics Express operates its own fleet of trucks, container chassis, and trailers, including flatbed, step-deck, conestoga, and dry van. With wholly owned equipment, we control more of the process and deliver more consistent service across the United States and beyond. Located near the Port of Savannah, Charleston and Jacksonville, we handle a high volume of local and over-the-road container drayage and full-truckload service across multiple lanes. By coming alongside our customers, we learn the details, solve real problems, and keep freight on pace from pickup to delivery. Racing is part of our DNA, and we bring that same discipline and teamwork to every load so our customers and drivers can finish strong. For the Win!

About our Founder

CEO and founder Roger Burdette launched Podium Logistics Express in 2018 from a small office in Effingham County. With nearly 30 years in the logistics industry, he believes in extreme customer service built on long lasting relationships, clear communication, and a tightly bonded, culturally sound team of professionals.

Roger has proudly served Effingham County as District 2 Commissioner since 2018. He is a Navy veteran and holds a BBA from Valdosta State University. He earned his MBA from Mercer University with the highest honors, maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

He is the father of four and has lived in Effingham since 2003 with his wife, Karima, and their two youngest children, Zecharia and Priscilla. Karima is a published author and speaker who volunteers in the Effingham school system and local charities, and she has led a nearby nursing home ministry for many years.

Roger enjoys time with family and attending church locally. When time permits, he is an avid hunter, amateur race car driver, and the author of his first published children’s book. Roger and Karima believe few things matter more than pouring Godly wisdom and strong morals into the next generation, helping them stay on the right line and finish strong.
